Inside a room, open Settings and select Account. Edit Nickname and select the checkmark to save. Choose a color swatch under Color to update your participant color.

Open your Account settings
Select the gear button labeled Settings in the room navigation. On a wide screen the navigation is on the left; in the compact layout it is along the bottom.
Select Account in the Settings menu. This section contains Nickname, Color, and Language. On a compact screen, choose Account from the menu to open its controls; the Settings back button returns to that menu.
Save a nickname
Replace the text in Nickname with a short name your friends will recognize. A blank name cannot be saved. When the name differs from your current one, a cancel icon and a checkmark appear at the right of the field.
Select the checkmark or press Enter to save. Wait for the saving indicator to finish and the success checkmark to appear. Ask a friend to confirm the updated name in the room.
Select the X beside the field, or press Escape while editing, to discard an unsaved change and restore your current nickname.
Keep the name short. If a name containing many emoji or accented characters is rejected, try a shorter version: the app limits the field length and the server also checks the size of the submitted name.
Choose your participant color
Under Color, select one of the colored circles. The selected swatch gains a ring. Color is sent when you select it; there is no separate Save button for this control.
Choose a color that helps your friends recognize you, and keep a clear nickname too. Different participants may choose the same color.
Choose the app language
The Language control is in the same Account section. Use its language picker to choose from the options shown. This changes interface labels; your nickname remains the name you entered.
If a nickname does not update
Check that you selected the checkmark or pressed Enter. Closing Settings while a name is only typed does not send that edit.
If saving fails or the room appears disconnected, check your connection and return to Account to review the current name before trying again. Use a short, non-empty name.
