Opening a room does not automatically join voice chat. Select Voice, allow microphone access, and check that both you and the people you want to hear have joined.
- Select Voice in the room navigation
- Allow microphone access
- Check Unmute and your audio output
I cannot join voice chat
Select Voice in the room navigation. On the compact layout shown here, it is at the bottom of the room. After you join, the navigation shows Mute and Leave controls.
If Voice is unavailable, ask the room owner to check the voice permission for your role in Settings. Room permission and your browser’s microphone permission are separate checks.
Joining voice requests access to your microphone. If the request fails or you deny it, you will not join the call. Check the site’s microphone permission in your browser and your device’s microphone access settings, then try Voice again. Cliqroom does not provide a separate microphone picker in the room.

I joined, but nobody can hear me
If the microphone control says Unmute, select it to turn your microphone back on. A control that says Mute means your microphone is currently enabled in Cliqroom.
Check any physical mute switch on your headset or microphone. Check that your device is using the intended microphone and test it in your device’s sound settings.
Ask the other person to confirm that they joined Voice too. Being in the room or sending chat messages does not mean they are in the voice call.
I cannot hear another participant
Check your device volume, the output selected for your speakers or headphones, and whether the browser tab is muted. Ask the other participant to check their own Unmute control and microphone.
Voice chat and the media player have separate sound paths. Hearing the video does not prove the voice connection is working. Muting the video player does not mute your microphone.
Use Leave to exit voice, then select Voice to join again. Ask the affected participant to do the same. This retries the call connections; it is not a guarantee that every network can carry the call.
Voice stopped after a connection problem
If chat and shared controls have stopped updating too, recover the room connection first. After reopening the room, select Voice again; joining the room does not automatically rejoin voice.
Send the symptom with your support report
Say whether Voice fails to join, others cannot hear you, or you cannot hear others. Include your device and browser, whether microphone permission was allowed, whether the microphone works in your device settings, and whether leaving and rejoining helped. Do not include call recordings, private room invitations, or personal messages.
